Lutheran Medical Center, Brooklyn, has named Joanne Iolonardi, RN, MSN, as its senior vice president and CNO. Iolonardi was promoted to the new role from her previous position as vice president of med/surg services and nursing administration. She had served in that role since 2007.

“It is a privilege to be given the opportunity to lead the nursing team at Lutheran,” she said in a press release announcing her appointment. “The dedication, compassion, skill and cultural competence of each and every member of the nursing staff serves as a testament to the high quality care that Lutheran consistently provides to our patients. What sets Lutheran apart is our collaborative practice model that unites patients, nurses, physicians and staff to provide first-rate, patient-centered care. We are striving to continually evolve and expand throughout this historic era in healthcare while remaining committed to
our mission.”

A 30-year nursing veteran, Iolonardi also has served as director of nursing at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center and nurse manager at Montefiore Medical Center, both of which are in the Bronx.
