Carolyn Yucha, RN, PhD, FAAN, CNE, dean of the School of Nursing at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, was appointed to the Valley Health System Board of Governors, according to a news release.

The Valley Health System is a network of five acute care hospitals caring for patients throughout Southern Nevada and surrounding communities.

The new board, which merges five previous boards, comprises seasoned business professionals, key physician leaders and experienced hospital executives, according to a release.

The appointees are responsible for providing governance in the areas of hospital operations, regulatory issues, employee matters, resource management and performance improvement initiatives for the system’s five local hospitals.
