Nurses at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Ill., were recognized for the following achievements:

Laura Odum, RN, graduated from Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, Ind., with a BSN. Rajesh Priya, RN, passed the examination for oncology certified nurse. Susan Haupt, RN, graduated with a BSN from Purdue Calumet University.

Jan DeCrescenzo, RN; Patti Ludwig-Beymer, RN; Kathleen Pruiett, RN; and Nancy Rosenbery, RN, passed the certification exam for certified professional in patient safety. Connie Huberty, RN, MS, APN-BC, CHFN, presented “Innovative Care Models: Outpatient Heart Failure Clinic” at the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council APN-PA Summit held on Nov. 15, 2013, at the NIU Naperville (Ill.) campus. Kathy Heckler, RN, graduated with an MSN in healthcare systems leadership from Lewis University.

Jenna Tameling, RN, participated in a mission trip to Bolivia in November 2013 with two surgeons and two anesthesiologists, as well as some nurses and surgical techs, sponsored by the Jager Family Foundation, where they completed 26 surgeries in four days. Ed Huellstrounk, RN; Cheryl Mettille, RN; Ryane Schuman, RN; and Elizabeth Sutherland, RN, passed the examination for certified emergency nurse. Grazyna Kubas, RN; Asta Savickas, RN; and Amy Simenson, RN, passed the examination for certified lactation counselor.

Suzanne Wallace, RN, MSN, ACNP-BC, was nominated and selected to be honored as a Golden Graduate of the Purdue School of Nursing for exemplifying the tradition of excellence that characterizes Purdue nursing. Nancy Rosenbery, RN, recently passed the examination for certified professional in healthcare quality. Shannon Jarot, RN, recently received a post-masters certificate as a family nurse practitioner from the University of St. Francis and passed the examination for Family Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified.
