Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, N.J., has named Lori Colineri, RN, MSN, NEA-BC, its new senior vice president of nursing and CNO.

Colineri previously served as vice president and CNO at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, N.J., which is a member of Meridian Health System. She played a central role in helping the hospital achieve its fourth Magnet designation for excellence in nursing practice.

“I am excited to lead the exceptional team of nurses here and be part of the RWJ family,” Colineri said in a news release. “RWJ’s nurses have established a tradition of excellence as a four-time recipient of the Magnet award. I look forward to building on this reputation while encouraging our nurses to be leaders in research, education and sharing best practices with others in their field.”

At Riverview, she also served as senior manager of patient care services. Colineri held the same position at the former Edison, N.J.-based Solaris Health System.

“Lori brings a wealth of operational and leadership experience in a teaching and a community hospital setting to RWJ,” Stephen Jones, FACHE, president and CEO of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Robert Wood Johnson Health System, said in the release. “She possesses expertise in nursing and medical staff relations, strategic planning and business development, as well as performance improvement. We are excited to welcome her on board, and we are confident that she will play a central role in our success as we continue to strengthen our academic medical center and health system as a whole.”

Colineri is currently pursuing her DNP at Monmouth University.
