Christine Arrowood, RN, was presented with the April DAISY award at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster, Md.

A nurse at the hospital for nearly 22 years, Arrowood was honored for coming in to work on a day she was not scheduled to do so, and going above and beyond her normal duties to provide care to a patient that required wound care services.

“Christine is an extraordinary nurse who consistently puts her patients first,” Stephanie Reid, RN, BSN, MBA, vice president of quality and chief nursing officer at Carroll Hospital Center, said in a news release. “Her dedication is an excellent example of our SPIRIT values, which not only makes her an outstanding role model but also highly deserving of this DAISY Award.”

Carroll Hospital Center’s DAISY Award was created to honor outstanding healthcare professionals at the hospital. It is given to an RN or LPN each month to recognize extraordinary efforts in delivering exceptional patient care, according to the release. •
