Olivet Nazarene University’s School of Graduate and Continuing Studies in Bourbonnais, Ill., has entered an educational partnership with the American Nurses Association Illinois and its affiliates, Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nursing, Philippine Nurses Association of Illinois and Illinois Association of School Nurses.

“Olivet is proud to partner with such a prestigious organization and its respected affiliates,” Joe DeJohns, director of educational partnerships for Olivet’s School of Graduate and Continuing Studies, said in a news release. “We look forward to helping ANA-Illinois members and members of the affiliated associations achieve their educational goals and excel in the ever-changing landscape of professional healthcare.”

This new relationship includes a tuition incentive of a 20% discount for Olivet’s RN to BSN program — both the online and hybrid programs — as well as its MSN programs. Olivet is looking to reach more nursing students from all areas of Illinois and beyond.

“The healthcare environment is fast-paced and ever-changing,” Cynthia A. Russell, RN, PhD, associate dean of nursing and health sciences at ONU, said in the release. “Today’s nurses need programs like Olivet’s RN to BSN program that facilitate completion of the baccalaureate degree, enabling graduates to pursue career advancement opportunities and graduate studies.”

Through its educational partnership with ANA-Illinois, Olivet is extending this tuition incentive to all members of affiliate organizations. ANA-Illinois invites other nursing organizations to partner with it as organizational affiliates and is committed to helping RNs achieve their professional and educational goals, according to the release.

“By pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced nursing degree, RNs can operate from a broader knowledge base for the benefit of patients and families,” ANA-Illinois Executive Director Susan Y. Swart, RN, MS, CAE, said in the release. “Additionally, baccalaureate and advanced-degreed RNs benefit from enhanced career prospects in various areas, including teaching, research, administration and advanced practice.”
