Edward White Hospital recognizes nurse’s clinical excellence

In celebration of National Nurses Week, Edward White Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., recognized one nurse and one nursing support staff member for clinical excellence. The annual award recipients are nominated by their peers for outstanding service, leadership, compassion and commitment to the hospital and patients, according to a news release.

This year’s award for Clinical Excellence in Nursing was presented to Case Manager Joan Burke, RN. Burke has been with Edward White for four years. She is respected by many and has made a difference because of her devotion to the patients she serves, according to the release. She is a teacher and a leader in her department, serving as a preceptor for new employees.The Clinical Excellence for Nursing Support Award recipient was Barbara Fisher, CNA.
