Hue Taylor, RN, was named Carroll Hospital Center’s 2014 Nurse of the Year during the hospital’s annual Best of the Best Awards Banquet on May 12 at St. John’s Portico in Westminster, Md. A member of the Carroll Hospital Center staff for close to 10 years, Taylor was chosen for her dedication, energy and willingness to go above and beyond for her colleagues and patients, according to a news release.

Taylor has consistently raised the bar in providing extraordinary care. Her skill, compassion and kindness have made her a favorite among patients on the hospital’s med/surg unit where she works.

“Hue is a delight,” Karen Lee, RN, clinical manager of Carroll Hospital Center’s med/surg unit and vascular access team, said in the release. “She’s extremely dependable, all of her patients absolutely love her and she definitely goes above and beyond for all of them.”

A highly organized and efficient nurse, Taylor is recognized for her enthusiasm and can-do attitude, which combined with a strong work ethic and expert knowledge have made her a valuable resource to her fellow nurses.

“Hue is an exceptional nurse who is truly deserving of this award,” Stephanie Reid, RN, BSN, MBA, Carroll Hospital Center’s vice president of quality and CNO, said in the release. “Her outstanding care is admirable and we are so proud to have her as part of our nursing team.”
