Nyack Hospital celebrates Nightingale Nurse Excellence Award winners

Nyack (N.Y.) Hospital celebrated National Nurses Week on May 6 by bestowing the annual Nightingale Nurse Excellence Awards.
Winners were chosen by their peers as exemplary role models in their profession.
Awards were presented to Sue Pederson, RN, NP (nurse practitioner); Cicily Abraham, RN (critical care); Nuala Ridge, RN (surgical services); Maureen O’Brien, RN-C, MSN, and Colleen Beirne, RN, CSHA (leadership); Corinne Siracusa, RN (med/surg nursing); Cassandra Leon, RN (organizational nursing); Alicia Milton, RN (outpatient services); Manju Thomas, RN (mother/baby); and Home Care Improvement in Pain Team (nursing team).
Two additional Friend of Nursing awards were given to Marie Ternemil, PCA, and Leon Vidal, non-nursing professionals whose outstanding efforts positively affect the nursing staff at Nyack, according to the release.
