Memorial Sloan Kettering nurses earn awards at annual nursing event

Five nurses were honored during National Nurses Week in May at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centerís Samuel and May Rudin Awards ceremony. The awards, sponsored annually by the Rudin Family Foundation, honor excellence in nursing practice, leadership, education, research and patient care, according to a news release.
The award winners were nominated by fellow nurses, administrators, physicians and patients.
Category winners were Vashti Livingston, RN, MSN, CWOCN, clinical nurse specialist, for excellence in advanced nursing practice; Mary Yanolatos, RN, BSN, CPAN, clinical nurse 4, for excellence in nursing practice; Jeanine Gordon, RN, MSN, OCN, nurse leader, for excellence in nursing leadership; Debra Rodrigue, RN-BC, MSN, clinical nurse specialist, for excellence in nursing education; and Theresa Brunner, RN, BSN, CPAN, clinical nurse 4, for excellence in nursing research.
In addition, Kaman Gilbert, a patient care technician, was honored for excellence in patient care support.
