0

The Diabetes Self-Management Education Program at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Md., part of the hospital’s diabetes center, recently was awarded an education recognition certificate from the American Diabetes Association. The certificate recognizes the program’s excellence and ability to offer patients high-quality education and care that meets national standards, according to a news release.

“The process gives professionals a national standard by which to measure the quality of services they provide,” Susan Steinweg, RN, BSN, CDE, program coordinator at the diabetes center, said in the release. “And it assures the consumer that he or she will receive high-quality service.”

Education recognition status is verified by an official certificate from the ADA and awarded for four years.
