Unapproved therapy

0

I thought the April 1 online article “Unapproved therapy appears to help asthma, allergies” (www.Nurse.com/Article/Unapproved-Therapy) was interesting as it made the idea of sublingual allergy medication seem new.

I grew up in western Pennsylvania and used sublingual drops in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

The allergist mixed up the solution himself, and I kept it in the refrigerator and used the drops daily.

I loved the drops, as it meant no more weekly trips to the family doctor for shots.

The drops were effective.

I stopped using them only when I graduated from college and my new insurance would not cover them.
