Are there any nursing schools that do not require statistics courses?

Dear Donna,

You could call me a professional student. I have taken courses to complete my BSN. Are there any nursing schools that do not require statistics?

Professional Student

Dear Donna replies:

Dear Professional Student,

I don’t know if there any BSN programs that do not require statistics, but I will tell you that everyone dreads it. I was so fearful of it in undergraduate school, but everyone, including me, manages to muddle through. If you don’t get obsessed with getting a perfect grade and do the best you can, you’ll be able to get through it. If necessary, your instructor, fellow students and even tutors can help you. Where there is a will there always is a way. It’s always good to face the things you fear most — it builds character, confidence and gives you a sense of accomplishment. If you want that BSN, just bite the bullet and do whatever it takes to get it over with. I guarantee you’ll live to talk about it.

Florence Nightingale had this to say about statistics: “To understand God’s thoughts we must study statistics, for these are the measure of his purpose.”

Best wishes,
