American Association of Critical-Care Nurses honors California chapter


The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses recognized 14 of its more than 235 chapters worldwide for their exemplary efforts to make a difference in the healthcare profession and their communities. One of those chapters hails from Loma Linda, Calif. Inland Empire Chapter received the Excellence in Educational Programming Award for high-quality educational programming provided to acute and critical care nurses.

The awards were presented in May during the 2013 National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition in Boston. Based in Aliso Viejo, Calif., the AACN is a specialty nursing organization.

Other awards given to chapters include Excellence in Collaboration for partnering with other chapters and external groups; Excellence in Community Education & Public Service for contributions that support AACN’s mission, vision and values; Excellence in Leadership Development for succession planning and support of AACN’s mission, vision and values; Excellence in Promoting the Value of Certification for increasing the number of certified nurses as well as renewal and retention; and the President’s Award for integrating AACN’s theme, “Dare To,” in annual activities.
