Kathy Swanson, RN, BSN, MS, MBA, was named president of Arnold Palmer Medical Center, which includes Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. She also will remain senior vice president of Orlando Health, according to a news release. As president, Swanson will have full responsibility for the strategic oversight of pediatric and women services.
“Kathys demonstrated leadership skills and abilities will continue to be tremendous assets as we proceed on our strategic journey to create a more efficient business model and to improve the quality of care we provide to patients,” Sherrie Sitarik, president and CEO of Orlando Health, said in the release.
Before her leadership role at the medical center, Swanson was president of the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Women. She also held the position of vice president and executive director of Arnold Palmer Hospital. Swanson joined Orlando Health in 1977 and has held various positions including administrator of business planning, administrator of clinical and ancillary services, director of nursing and nurse manager of pediatric services.
