Leslie Simmons, RN, FACHE, was named president of Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Md., effective July 1.
“The board is delighted that we have such a talented leader in Leslie, who has grown in the organization over the last 14 years,” Ethan Seidel, PhD, chairman of the board of directors, said in a news release. “She will continue the hospitals tradition of strong leadership and a familylike culture that is focused on providing high quality, compassionate care.”
As a leader in the organization, Simmons has been instrumental in driving Carroll Hospital Centers achievements in quality with a focus on accountability and transparency, according to the release. In addition, Simmons strong clinical background, from her more than 24 years of experience in numerous aspects of the healthcare industry, has been an asset in creating a culture of patient-centered care and uncompromising commitment to high performance at the hospital through the development of clinical service lines and increased participation in statewide collaboratives and best-practice initiatives.
Simmons is the past president of the Maryland Organization of Nurse Executives and is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives. She is a board member of the YMCA of Central Maryland and was appointed by the governor to the Maryland Health Quality and Cost Council.
