Alaris Health lauds exemplary nurses during national celebration

In honor of National Nursing Home Week, Alaris Health in Rochelle Park, N.J., celebrated three RNs as exemplary employees, according to a news release.

Assistant directors of nursing Yvonne Mitchell, RN, Cheryl Walker, RN, and Beth Pantano, RN, MSN, all were honored during the May 12-18 event.

Mitchell previously worked in the housekeeping department and was inspired by Alaris nurses to complete her education. She now wants to mentor new nurses.

“I realized that this was what I wanted to do,” she said in the release. “It motivated me to work hard and achieve my dream. I like people, and I enjoy making a difference in their lives. It has also given me the opportunity to build a team that can do great things together.”

Walker wanted to be in nursing ever since she was a child when she used to watch her older cousin, a nurse, getting ready for work. “I was born a nurse,” Walker said. “Since age 4, I have known what I wanted to do. This is my calling and my passion.”

According to the release, Pantano said the best thing about working in geriatrics is the ability to follow up with patients for a longer period of time.

“It is important to build a rapport with patients and gain their trust, and in our long-term care and subacute setting, you have the time to do that,” she said. “The whole team works together to develop these relationships.”

In addition to the RNs, Alaris gave exemplary employee honors to Sara Medina, LPN; Patrick Robello, CNA; and Anna Chbini, QCNA.

The theme of this year’s National Nursing Home Week was “Team Care: Everyone Pitches in.”

“Alaris Health celebrates our employees for improving and enhancing the lives of our patients,” Avery Eisenreich, president of Alaris Health, said in the release. •
