The September Nursing and Partnership Excellence Display featured the ED. The display was hosted by Milagros Ribeiro, RN-BC, BSN; Eva Alcantara, RN, BSN; Jennifer Wasielewski, RN-BC, NEA; and Candice Vitalo, RN, MSN. Posters featured ED staff professional practice and multidisciplinary collaboration and recognition of its several veteran team members.
Jayamol Zachariah, RN, CVRN-BC, graduated with a BSN and earned board re-certification in cardiovascular nursing. Jean Adams, RN, attended a Paralyzed Veterans of America conference in August in Orlando, Fla.
Karen Saban, RN, PhD, APRN, CNRN, was seleted as a fellow of the American Heart Association. Saban was elected to this fellowship by the American Heart Association Council of Cardiovascular Nursing and Stroke in recognition of her outstanding contributions related to the prevention of cardiovascular disease and stroke in vulnerable populations, according to a news release. In addition to her exceptional research, she recently was appointed as vice chairwoman of the International Stroke Nursing Conference Planning Committee and is an active member of the AHA Chicago Multicultural Committee. Saban will be honored at the AHA Scientific Sessions taking place in Dallas in November.
