Linda Carman Copel, RN, PhD, PMHCNS, BC, CNE, NCC, FAPA, ANEF, a professor at the Villanova (Pa.) University College of Nursing, was inducted into the National League for Nursing Academy of Nursing Education on Sept. 20.
She was one of the 28 nurse educators selected for the honor as the seventh class of fellows. The induction was in Washington, D.C., at the 2013 NLN Education Summit.
She lives the educator role, associate professor Carol Weingarten, RN, PhD, ANEF, said in a news release. The impact of her work as an expert educator and specialist in psychiatric-mental health nursing extends to the local, state and national levels.
According to the release, Copel is known for her research in domestic violence and more recently with issues affecting veterans and their families.
Dr. Copel is a consummate practicing clinician, an excellent teacher, mentor and scholar with an unbroken record of research and publication, M. Louise Fitzpatrick, RN, EdD, FAAN, Connelly Endowed dean and professor, wrote in a letter of support.
