Nurse Response, a national provider of multilingual telehealth services, has compiled some tips for a healthy pregnancy as a way to bring awareness to the issue given that November is National Prematurity Awareness Month, according to a news release. Consult a physician: Once you have a confirmed pregnancy test, contact your health care provider to schedule your initial prenatal appointment. Meeting with a physician within the first few weeks of pregnancy will enable you to undergo routine screenings and prenatal testing that can determine if there are any developmental abnormalities with your pregnancy. Prenatal testing also can determine if there are specific medications or regimens that will aid in your babys development. Your provider will make sure you and your baby have all of the tools, nutritional guidance and resources necessary to meet developmental markers throughout your pregnancy.
Detox your body: Your baby consumes everything you consume, which means smoking, drinking and drug usage can dramatically increase your chance of miscarriage and preterm labor. If you need help finding a cessation program, ask your healthcare provider or seek out support programs in your community.
Be nutritionally conscious: Implementing a well-balanced diet and taking prenatal vitamins will supply your baby with the vital nutrients needed for strong brain and organ development. Consult your healthcare provider regarding a nutritional plan that will help you to achieve optimal health for your babys development.
Take folic acid: Experts agree that taking 400 micrograms of folic acid daily helps to keep baby developing and progressing on schedule.

Nurse advice lines are a great way to speak with experienced medical professionals who have sound medical advice and access to healthcare resources when you are between doctor visits or experiencing an issue.
