The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses recently conferred a silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence on the ICU at Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital in West Chester, Pa.
The Beacon Award for Excellence recognizes unit caregivers who successfully improve patient outcomes and align practices with AACNs six Healthy Work Environment Standards. Units that meet national criteria receive this three-year, three-level award with a gold, silver or bronze designation.
Being awarded the silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence is a tremendous honor for the intensive care unit, CNO Angela Coladonato, RN, MSN, NEA-BC, said in a news release. It reflects the staffs commitment to delivering the highest quality of care for our patients. I am so proud of the team because this journey has required a lot of hard work and dedication in order to get to this point.
