Letter: Positive attitudes

0

The article “A seasoned nurse,” by Joyce Riddle, is inspiring and well written (http://news.nurse.com/article/20130918/EOS1/109230001). We all need to exhibit a positive behavior when we are at work. I believe our attitude can foster healing and hope in those we serve and work with. We never know what others are going through. A smile and a kind listening ear, without spreading gossip, can benefit those around us.

I share the same Christian beliefs as Riddle. I like to think that is the reason I am the way I am. I want to encourage my nurses and aides. Encouragement fosters respect and the willingness to be a team and work together. You are “right on,” Riddle. Our attitude does influence others. We can make a difference and change the attitude of our profession.
