Prince George’s Hospital Center hires new CNO

Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly, Md., has hired Candace Hanrahan, RN, MSN, as its chief nursing officer.

A healthcare executive with more than 30 years of clinical experience, Hanrahan assumed her new duties on April 12.

“Candace brings an impressive track record and a strong focus on quality care and patient satisfaction,” John O’Brien, president of Prince George’s Hospital Center, said in a news release. “We are excited to have someone with her extensive clinical experience lead the nursing staff and managers. Candace is committed to patient-centered care and will be a great asset to our organization and community.”

Formerly, Hanrahan was with Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Md., serving as senior director. In this role, she provided leadership of three critical care units, three telemetry units, the respiratory therapy department as well as neurodiagnostics and non-interventional cardiology and remote monitoring.

Hanrahan is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, American Association of Nurse Executives as well as the Maryland Association of Nurse Executives.
