How can an RN find a refresher course if they’re not finding any nursing refresher courses offered at their local colleges?

Dear Donna,

I really need an RN refresher course and want a tip on where to go for one as I have been checking around but have been unsuccessful with junior college inquiries.

Needs a Refresher Course

Dear Donna replies:

Dear Needs a Refresher Course,

You should be able to obtain a list of all accredited refresher courses in your area through your state board of nursing, which you can locate through these websites: (, your state chapter of the American Nurses Association ( whether or not you are a member and/or your state chapter of the American Hospital Association.

You also can find courses by doing an Internet search for RN refresher courses in “your state, city
or county.”

Best wishes,
