Bank of America Grant helps fund hospital’s workforce program

White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles began its Workforce Development Program in 2008 with $1 million in anchor grant funding from the Bank of America which was used to invest in youth in the low-income community, foster job prospects and expose them to role models. About 650 students have completed the program.

“As a company committed to the communities we serve, we look to support job‐creating institutions and programs that connect individuals to meaningful employment opportunities,” said Raul A. Anaya, Greater Los Angeles market president, Bank of America. “In urban centers such as Los Angeles, hospitals are often major employment hubs and economic engines offering stable and well‐paying careers related to nursing, administration and medical support among others.”
